Lead Content Advisory

As of February 2009 a new California law has been put in place for lead content in children's clothing. Plus stricter Federal laws are coming into effect later in 2009. Please read how these new laws affect you.

These rules apply ONLY to manufacturers who RESELL children's items, not personal use items that you make for your own kids to use or wear! IF you do not produce items for resale to the children's market (12 and under) this information does not apply.

All Lead Crystal Rhinestones contain lead. It is considered totally safe for adults in jewelry and rhinestones on clothing, but not children under 12. This includes all items made by both Swarovski and Preciosa, items such as rhinestones, beads, pendants, and other components.

Rhinestones containing measurable amounts of lead are prohibited from use on children's clothing and accessories in the state of California! Children are defined as those who are 12 years or younger!

Customers who re-package our products for sale in states where public warnings are required should familiarize themselves with the particular warning requirements of those states to ensure that they are not in violation of local statutes, and especially to ensure that their product packaging meets all disclosure requirements. In certain states, this fact must be disclosed on the product label in accordance with the statutory requirements of the individual state. Lead is a chemical known to the State of California and other governmental agencies to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.

CALIFORNIA LAWS, AS OF FEBRUARY, 2009 STATE: NO MORE THAN 600 PPM LEAD IN CHILDREN'S CLOTHING! This is not good enough to be selling to national retailers! Please read below as to FEDERAL LAWS about to go into effect!

Federal law coming into effect in August, 2009!

Lead: 300 ppm, to be reduced to 200 ppm 2010, to be reduced to 100 ppm  (.1% lead) 2011!

If you sell clothing to Europe, you must abide by the standards set forth in RoHS (Restrictions of Hazardous Use ) in all Euro Nations.
