Blush Rose Fancy Stone Earrings
Blush Rose Fancy Stone Earrings
by Tamara Honaman
Add Swarovski fancy stones to cup chain findings then add a beaded dangle for more bling!
Materials
- Empty cup chain earring setting with ring (1 pair)
- 2 Swarovski 12mm square cushion cut crystal rhinestones (4470) in blush rose
- 2 Swarovski 6mm crystal rondelles (5040) in blush rose
- 2 head pins
- Pliers (or a similar smooth metal tool)
Instructions
- Place one Swarovski 12mm square cushion cut crystal rhinestone (4470) into a cup chain setting.
- Using the side of the tips of your pliers (or the smooth side of a similar tool), press one prong in the cupchain setting down toward the Swarovski crystal.
- Repeat Step 2 on the opposite side of the setting, then continue to work around the setting until all the prongs are set and the crystal secure.
Tip: When setting a stone, set the prongs on opposite ends first rather than moving from one prong to the next one over. This helps keep the stone centered and straight. If you were to think of the settting as a clock, you would start at 12:00, then 6:00, then 3:00, then 9:00. - Thread a rondelle onto a head pin. Begin a wrapped loop (see this video for instructions). Before wrapping the wire down, open the formed loop and slp the wire onto the loop of the earring finding.
Using chain-nose pliers, close the loop and wrap the wire down to complete the wrapped loop. - Use wire cutters to trim the excess wire. Use chain-nose pliers to tuck in the cut end of the wire so it doesn't catch on anything.
- Repeat all steps to complete the second earring.
